RYOT: News + Action (and Filmmaking for Social Good)...

Through filmmaking, budding artists have the chance to explore their expressive passions. Children given the opportunity to work on filmmaking teams, on either side of the camera, develop teamwork skills they can put to good use in other parts of their lives. From acting and cinematography to screenwriting and directing, the lessons learned on a film team arm students with the skills they need to pursue their dreams while strengthening their creative minds. Explorations in the arts give students the opportunity to grow confidence, build self-esteem, and learn teamwork. The new avenue of expression provided to them by lessons in filmmaking allows kids in underserved areas to find their voice. They will be better equipped to face more challenges as they learn that they have the chance at a brighter future doing something they love.
Although not everyone has the resources to pursue their dreams and discover hidden passions, programs such as Ciné Institute work to bring these opportunities to artists around the world. Through a little support for these ventures, we can all enjoy the talents and experience the unique points of view of filmmakers from all walks of life.
